(Reuters) – The latest sharp strengthening of the rouble “doesn’t pose a danger to Russia’s fiscal coverage,” the finance ministry mentioned on Thursday.
The rouble firmed sharply in Moscow commerce on Thursday to ranges final seen earlier than Russia despatched tens of hundreds of troopers to Ukraine.
The appreciation of the rouble “impacts oil and fuel revenues … but it surely’s too early to provide any particular evaluation now,” the ministry mentioned in response to a Reuters request for remark.
